Accessories: Wait, There’s more. What can I get?
You have found the car, you like the finance. The car has passed the tests. You are about to sign on the line, and then a voice in your head remembers the age old game show catch phrase…… BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE.
What accessories could you get if you simply just ask?
Is the car clean inside and out? Can you get a wax? Sometimes the car has had a wash, but will it stay clean for the next few miles, until you get it home? Having a car wax can protect the paint work more, and keep that new look for longer.
Does the dealership have any special offers? It is surprisingly common for dealerships to increase the price of a car and throw in a “Free TV”. Of course it is not free. You pay for it in the value of the car. It says it is free, and it feels free, because all you are paying for is the car. Right?
Look at the tyres. Are they the same old tyres that have done the first 50,000 miles and are now getting sold, or are they new, polished, safe and shiny tyres? Adding in fresh new tyres is not expensive for the dealership, but it is a nice little extra for you. Make sure that you get the 5th tyre or the spare tyre thrown in too. Alloys, and tyre protection should be considered too.
A Spare Key. Yes, some cars are sold without a spare key. Get one!
With the price of petrol these days, how can you afford the first full tank of gas? Get the dealership to fill it up from their pumps. They have petrol on hand and buy it in bulk, so it is cheaper for them than it will be for you, and how nice to save that extra few pounds?
Tools and safety accessories. If your car does breakdown by the side of the road, you need a torch, a flashing light and a safety kit. Surely the dealership wants to protect their valued customers.
Warranties. Again, you could have an accident, or a breakdown. Either way, having your new investment protected by a detailed warranty can mean that you will not break the bank if your car breaks down.
Will you park your car outside? Or do you live near birds? Protecting your car from sun damage, or from bird droppings will save that paintwork and keep it looking new for longer. A nice new car cover please Mr Dealership.
There are several other accessories to ask for, like floor mats, a new radio, a full valet service inside and out. When you feel that you have the deal that you want, you can even then Haggle on the price a bit. Don’t be afraid to ask for a discount, or to miss the first payment on the finance.
Buying a car through Match Me means that you can get the finance you need. Your skills in negotiation mean that you can get the accessories that you want, and maybe even that bit extra thrown in for free
